Garbage Collection Schedule
Collection times are subject to review from time to time. It is at the Contractor's sole iscretion to not collect your garbage bin if these conditions are not adhered to.

Council's rubbish collection service is a single driver operation and to get the most efficient results, your assistance is necessary.
Please place your wheelie bin on the footpath as close as practical to the kerb or the road edge. Do not place bins next to street lights as the truck may damage the pole.
Ensure that the bin faces the street, with the handle towards your house.
The bin must be clear of parked cars or trees and at least 300mm away from any other bin or obstruction and the lid must be completely closed.
Please place the bin out the night before collection and please ensure that the bin lid is closed flat to prevent crows being attracted to your rubbish. Bins must be removed from the street verge within 24 hours of collection.
Please do not:
- place steel, stones, concrete, soil, hot ashes or oil in your bin
- overload your bin, the bin lift is set at a maximum of 80kgs
- compact the rubbish in your bin and place heavier items in the bottom of the bin - if it sticks in the bin, it stays in the bin
Bins will not be collected if:
- the lid is open
- the bin is overloaded
- the bin is placed incorrectly
The collection is a 12 hour day shift operation, so PLEASE put your bin out the night before. It just isn't possible to go back to pick up bins that were put out late.

Recycling
Recycling can be taken to the Opal Landfill or BSH Waste Solutions on 8 - 12 Gosse Street, Roxby Downs. Refundable recycling to be taken straight to Gosse Street.
Opening Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday
8.00am to 1.00pm, Saturday

Waste Oil Disposal
Council operates a waste oil collection faciolity at the Roxby Downs Landfill site. Disposal of all used motor oil at this facility is free. For further information, contact Council on (08) 8671 0010 or BSH Waste Solutions on (08) 8671 1154. No cooking oils, coolants, diesel, or diesel blended fuels (boi Diesel) are to be desposited into the unit. This facility is open 1.00pm to 6.00pm, 7 days.
