Royal Flying Doctor Service - Roxby Downs Auxiliary (Incorporated)

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Roxby Downs Auxiliary is a non-profit organisation, established in 1987, which aims to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. The Roxby Downs group is one of several auxiliaries in South Australia. Our fundraising activities include raffles, selling of RFDS souvenirs, Tag Along Tours, the Irish Christmas Dinner (held annually in June) and the Giant RFDS Auction (held annually in September). In 2009 the RFDS made 119 landings at Olympic Dam. That means every fourth day, assisting someone in our community. Across South Australia around 45,000 people were assisted by the RFDS last year, with a staggering total of 230,000 people assisted Australia wide for the year. With the support of the Roxby Downs Community, approximately $100,000.00 was raised in 2009 alone.
